Russ keeping a close eye on his new Cadillac while all this heavy equipment is rumbling around it. The gun is missing from this picture….
Summer switch turned on.
We went from winter to summer in a week. Nice and warm and sunny today. I think these construction types prefer to work in miserable weather as they seem to get the most done in the rain, but when it is nice there is no one around.
Forms are gone, and the foundation is cured. Now they are ready to start backfilling, as soon as the mud dries up.
Might be a while…
Is usually another mans junk.
A few of the things that got dug up while excavating for the new building. Apparently, according to the neighbor, there was once a cattle barn back there that burned and it appears most of the debris was simply pushed into a pit and buried. We had to excavate most of this debris and replace it with new clean fill. Most of it was just bricks, but there was also lots of bottles and this brass casting. I have no idea what the casting is, or was. It kind of looks like part of an old gate, or perhaps a fireplace screen. Its solid brass.
And of course the obligatory Milk of Magnesia bottle.
