Squall

10 minute blizzard

DSC_5425.jpg

While it looks like a full blown blizzard in my back yard yesterday, it is only a snow squall. In our part of the “great white north” we don’t get much snow in the winters, just a few dumpings and usually a thaw shortly after. What we do get often are little mini blizzards, or snow squalls which only last a few minutes but reek havoc on the roads as it is instantly a complete white out.

I miss snow, just once I would like to see a good ol’ blizzard dumping 2 feet of snow, but that only seems to happen north of here, in the US.

LaSalette, Ont.

Mile marker 79 on the former CASO sub (former Michigan Central, New York Central, Penn Central and perhaps Central Central). Marking the location of the LaSalette train station. Not much left there now, only an abandoned right of way and this tombstone.
