High Definition Video of Doubleheaders Post Tour “Bash”

For the last 26 years, a couple weeks after the annual Doubleheaders Layout Tour, there is a gathering of the layout owners and helpers for a bit of a Post Tour Wrap-up, commonly known as “The Bash”

For the past several years, this event has been held at the Aberfoyle Junction Railroad club building in Aberfoyle, Ontario. This is a perfect venue for this event as there is ample space, uncharacteristically, right in the layout room! This layout is a massive O fine scale layout that was built by a small group of modelers in the late ’70’s and early ’80’s. It has always been ahead of its time, and has to be seen to be believed.

One of my first experiences as a wee model railroader was visiting this club in its original location above a barn at a local flea market. I happened upon the club layout by accident, unaware it was there while wandering around bored out of my mind with my parents. Needless to say it had an impact.

The video above has lots of footage of the layout, which is highly detailed, with full building interiors that really come to life during the night scenes. A bit of video of the Doubleheaders formalities is also included.

Enjoy!
