Little used line

I took this shot earlier in the summer just to the right of this one. I believe this was part of the old LE&N line that ran back to Paris. Still there, but not used much anymore…

  1. Hi Tim,

    That’s exactly what it is. You must have been fairly close to the old TH&B line that crossed this track on it’s way across the Grand River and then on to Waterford. While in the area last month I noticed that the old TH&B “Silver Bridge” is still there! I wish I’d had more time to visit familiar surroundings.

    The rails appear to be shiny in the photo, as if the line was used recently. I wonder…

  2. Someone is doing some nice right-o-way maintenance on the grass and shrubbery. Looks like weed control is attended too as well. I don’t suspect the present railroad makes the effort.
