Gord the Gourd

Hobby Show

Next to the miniature RC planes, the most interesting display at the Hobby Show in Toronto last week were the gourds. Apparently adding an epoxy modeling compound to make faces with these things is quite a past time. The results were all quite entertaining!

Here are a few “work in progress” examples….

Live Steam

Toronto Hobby Show

Russ and I spent a few hours last weekend at the Hobby Show in Toronto. Not much train stuff there, but there was a great display of little live steam engines which is always interesting.

This was an exceptionally well done model, running on compressed air for the show but designed to work from steam.

Last Gasp

051107s.jpg

Last year at this time I tore out my Port Kelsey layout and trucked most of it to the dump. I did keep a couple of pieces thinking I would try to use them somewhere. Yesterday I did a bit of a clean up in the garage and decided it was time to let it go as I don’t think I will ever find a use for it. So it went into the fire barrel….

This was the piece on the cover of the August 1997 Model Railroader.

It sure burned in a hurry….

🙁
