Earlier in the year I managed to find an old Astro Craft brass boxcab model of CNJ 1000, the engine used at the Bronx Terminal for several decades.

Since it was a fairly old model, mid-60’s I would guess, the power drive on it was pretty much useless.  I have been hunting for a suitable drive for it for some time.  Knowing that North West Shortline produced the ideal unit was encouraging, but the fact that they discontinued to model was not.  Fortunately when we were in California in July I found one at Whistle Stop Hobbies.

It rained all day Sunday, so I could not mow the lawn.  Very disappointed, I decided to return to the Bronx Terminal project and start on rebuilding the engine .

The gallery above (click on the picture to open it) shows the progress so far.
