Bird update

Now there are three…

What a difference a couple of days, and a few hundred worms make! Compare this shot of nesting robins in our rosebush with one taken five days ago

There were initially four in the nest, but this morning we noticed only three. Guess one found it too crowded and walked off…

note – the white patches aren’t in the feathers, its sun shining through the leaves.

Caves in Tobermory, Ontario

The Grotto

140607s.jpg

This was taken a couple weeks ago when we visited Tobermory, Ontario.

Difficult to get to, but worth the rock climbing this hidden gem is quite a sight to see! An underwater cave lets in light creating the most rich blue water imaginable contrasting against the green rock walls. Its hard to tell from the image but the crystal clear water is about 40-50 feet deep! I had no idea what was in the cave that was sort of visible from the top of a high rock cliff along the shore line. I decided to take the risk and climb down, with one hand as the other was holding the camera and lenses! Once down there and inside the cave it quickly became apparent that it was worth the climb. Getting back up was also interesting as there was a very narrow cave that went back to the top of the cliffs, which I managed to squeeze through, again, with one hand.
