Another Pointless Frog Turnout

Modern Stub Switch with Rotating Frog

130508.jpg

This turnout, similar to one I posted last week is another example of an interesting design. No switch points, it works similar to a stub switch except this has a rotating section of rail instead of a frog. The entire unit is mechanically driven to move the bridle and the frog rail in unison. Interesting that even with no frog point there is still guard rails being used.

Thanks again Richard for the image.
