Robin’s nest

130607s.jpg

These little guys are in a nest right outside the door in a rosebush. The location of the nest is at eye level and very easy to see. Every time we walk by the bush the mother darts out, she must be getting tired of that by now.

We have been watching them for a while and I didn’t expect them to survive in such a poor location for a nest. I took a picture last week and there was only two hatched and two eggs.

At a week old they are just eating machines. I’ll post a picture every few days of their progress.

CNR Shops

Re-revisited.

110607s.jpg

It was such a nice day on Thursday I hopped on the bike and rode down to Stratford to check out the CNR shops again.

This is the third time I snooped around this place. The first couple of times I was allowed inside and posted lots of pictures of what was once a major CNR operation that employed 1700 people. Now it is just a giant eyesore that is the source of lots of frustration for the residents of Statford.

Since there was no one around on Thursday evening I could only get a peek inside through an open door at the end. It doesn’t appear that much has happened to the site in the last couple years, in spite of grandiose plans.

Below are a couple links to the actual development plans being proposed for the site. Supposedly this is a half billion project. I haven’t decided yet if this is the plans of a visionary, or a crackpot.
