Closing in….

Finishing up the last of the roof today. Should be a busy week with the floor scheduled to be poured and the trenching to be done. They are going to mess up my nicely mowed lawn…. more.

Flyin’ R/C

Like trains, but they fly.

300407.jpg

Ron and Russ out for a little afternoon flying. Before I was into model railroading I spent a lot of time flying R/C planes with Russ. We both taught ourselves to fly back when most R/C planes flew with gas engines. Now the trend is electric, like this plane here. Electric planes are nice in that they are very inexpensive and easy to fly. The old method of spending a winter building a plane and strapping a gas powered saw on the front seem to be dying out in favor for the ready to run instant fun planes.

My kind of dinner guest!

Clark Kooning

Clark came by last week and made us all dinner! Some may recognize Clark Kooning as one of the hosts of Modeling with the Masters and as the Canadian Director of NMRA Canada, but we recognize him as a good friend. Clark drops by often and provides a welcome distraction from our daily work and is always a great source of entertainment and inspiration. And good food!

A great meal was enjoyed by all. It was pork tenderloin prepared to one of his mom’s recipes….
