St. Jacobs Mill

Model Railroad exhibit

This past weekend was the annual Doubleheaders Layout tour that I was part of for 14 years. Since I no longer have a layout, or live in Kitchener, I decided to check out some of the layouts.

This masterfully built layout is in St. Jacobs, above a restored mill that is now host to several specialty shops. I haven’t seen this layout in a few years, the last time I saw it it was still under construction. Now it is mostly complete and very well done. I took several pictures of it as it is very photogenic. These will posted here over the next few days.

I believe this scene is the handy work of Greg Shinnie, a local modeler of exceptional talent.

Day 14

Fewer yellow things….

But still lots of beeping. They were here bright and early with a new machine. This one not only beeps, but vibrates at the same time, and by vibrate I mean really vibrates. Shakes the whole house. They are packing down the driveway and around the foundation. Started to spread some of the mounds of topsoil, but it was still a bit frozen, so it will have to wait for a while. Should start framing this week.
