C&O Steam

Ford Museum

170807s.jpg

The centerpiece of the railroad collection at the Henry Ford Museum is this massive C&O 2-6-6-4 2-6-6-6 coal hauler. This engine is massive, filling almost the entire length of the building. I waited for a solid 10 minutes to get a shot without anyone standing in front of the engine. Four or five would wander into the shot and I would wait for a minute for all but one to leave, of course someone else would show up. Finally I had a clear shot except for one person who insisted on making a etching of the engine on a little display placed beside it. I gave up and just took the picture….

  1. Small clarification, the engine type is 2-6-6-6 not 2-6-6-4.

    Nice shot though.
