Live Steam

Toronto Hobby Show

081107s.jpg

Russ and I spent a few hours last weekend at the Hobby Show in Toronto. Not much train stuff there, but there was a great display of little live steam engines which is always interesting.

This was an exceptionally well done model, running on compressed air for the show but designed to work from steam.

  1. Well, I know a little about the particular choice photo…since I built some bits of it!

The “thing” photo’d is a freelance 2″ scale steam wagon, built by David Powell of Pickering. It will pull a decent sized adult (I weigh 250 lb) on a flat surface.

It is most definitely designed for steam – there is a couple of photos on my web page of the first day we ran it on steam. Everything we build gets run, sometimes until the wheels fall off it.
